Husband and wife Nigel & Fiona Taylor from Newlyn launched their business Kingfisher Coastal Charters at the beginning of this year. The couple have both lived and worked in Newlyn and the surrounding areas for all of their lives and have many interesting, funny and sometimes sad stories to tell about the history and lives of the local characters and further back into folklore. Nigel has over 35 years of experience as a fisherman and their boat The Kingfisher is a 25 foot ex-fishing boat, which is now certified to take passengers as a charter vessel. Nigel’s knowledge of the history of the coast and its wildlife is extensive and he loves nothing more than sharing his experiences and wisdom with people! Many of our local points of interest can be seen on and but Kingfisher Coastal Charters offers the opportunity to see a different side! You’ll hear stories of local heroes, villains and all things in between. Their aim is to offer a factual, fun-filled coastal experience for all of their guests, young and old and to do their best to provide all you could want from a coastal tour, providing the wildlife plays along! They also offer fishing trips, what could be better than an evening trip to catch your own dinner? Or even a bespoke Lure fishing trip for the keener, more experienced angler?
They also offer a boat taxi service… Start your trip from their departure point in Newlyn, enjoy a leisurely cruise to either Mousehole or Penzance, go ashore for a spot of lunch or shopping before coming back aboard Kingfisher for the return journey to Newlyn.
