‘Together We Shine’ ’War-barth, Golowi a Wren’
Friday 21st – Sunday 30th June (with Mazey Day on 29th June Friends of Golowan, Kowetha Golowan, Are you a friend of Golowan? Of course you are… What does that mean exactly? Golowan is a cultural phenomenon, owned by its community, that’s us! So many people take part in or watch the many Golowan events, it brings us together, a strong community in celebration. Times are tight. We need your help. So… What can you do?
• Buy a Friends of Golowan badge. Beautiful one-off enamel badges, wear yours with pride! Available for £10 at Mirva Gallery, 6-7 Causewayhead, Penzance and sign up to be on our ‘Friends’ mailing list so we can contact you when we need your help – with the festival, fundraising, Barbican clean up, theme choosing etc. Forms available when you buy your badge.
• Put on a fundraising event. It could be a coffee morning, a gig, a pub quiz, a sponsored walk, shaving your hair or beard off, a gymnastics or dance display in your street. Simple as you like. Let us know and we can share your event/activity on the Golowan Facebook and Insta pages. Or Make a donation on the website www.golowanfestival.org If we all chipped in the price of a pasty…
• Volunteer. We need up to 50 volunteers on Mazey Day and Quay Fair Day to make the days go smoothly. A few hours on the Golowan stall, marshalling a parade, giving parading children water, litter picking or shaking a collection bucket. We all need to muck in.
