NEWLYN Christmas Light Switch On 2025

At the time of writing this, Christmas 2025 is almost upon us and the village’s Christmas lights are up and ready to go!
This year’s Newlyn Switch On will take place on Friday 12th
December with events commencing at 6pm and ending with a fantastic firework display over the harbour.
Thanks to the support of a grant from Cornwall Council the display will begin with silent fireworks gradually building to a bang at the end. Father Christmas himself will be making an appearance, arriving in proper Newlyn style… aboard the Penlee Lifeboat led by Pendeen Rowing Club! Every child at the switch on will be handed a raffle ticket and the winning ticket holder will be the lucky one to help Father Christmas switch on the lights!
There will be lights, food and music and some of the village’s wonderful businesses will be staying open later for some festive shopping.
